The Final Semester of my M. Ed. at Sul Ross State University

Starting with a Quote

As I start the first day of my last semester of graduate school, I find myself a bit anxious because I am taking two 8 week courses and my capstone course. Doubt has crept into my mind as my nerves somewhat overtake me when I look at how fast paced everything is. Of course, my determination will carry me through because I know this what is best for my family as I am doing what must be done in order to provide for them as our numbers are growing. Because of this, I would like to start with a quote that instantly popped into my head when I opened my coursework for my classes. It is from The Joker, played by Heath Ledger in the 2008 film, The Dark Knight, "And here we go...".

Process of the Processer

Because I created this site for blogging throughout my journey as a M. Ed. student at SRSU, I was able to skill parts of the process for creating a blog site, which is required for each course in the program. For the next 8 weeks, there will be weekly blogs published on a variety of topics within education that cover technology integration or something of that sort. Each blog will include a synthesis of what I have learned for that week or two, a description and analysis of what I find to hold the most importance, and an evaluation of my understanding and what I would like to learn more about. Each blog will include resources and hopefully I can add in some fun illustrations, puns, and personal touches.

Ending with a Quote

I would like to leave you with a quote I have come across and used in describing project based learning, as well as describing the explanation for how some learners retain skills. "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn," Benjamin Franklin. I find this quote as a good guide for looking at how I can alter my teaching style to include all types of learners.
