Reflecting on an Article Analysis
Before
Admittedly I was anxious as I was assigned to analyze a research article, as I typically scan articles for quotable information that may be used later for the sole purpose of defending my position on a given topic. I would read the abstract and introductory sections and then go straight to the findings and conclusion for a general idea of what research took place and why. Through the process of writing an article analysis I gained an understanding of what it takes to truly analyze research. Through this course, and critical analysis, I have been given a revised outlook on what it takes to properly analyze research for collegiate and professional uses.
After
After conducting my analysis, I found myself more comfortable with analyzing future research articles, as I now look forward to continuing the discussion of my topic for future research. With assistance from the assigned reading materials for this course, I believe I can properly document my analysis with a comfortability I previously did not have. Whether it is due to a topic I am passionate about or stumbling upon a new form of writing I am willing to face head on, I look forward to continuing my search for more research articles I will analyze. This and future assignments like this are assisting in the development of my excitement in digital citizenship.
The Research
The article I analyzed discussed the topic of digital citizenship and the importance of creating a way to measure it. I believe that this research holds weight for my future research on digital citizenship as the results found show strong reliability and validity in effective measurements for digital citizenship, which can continue to be used for future studies.
